Wednesday Painting Workshops
Day: This class runs on the third and fourth Wednesday of each month
Time: 10am to 3pm
Price: £35.00 per session or £180 for 6 sessions
About the class
The studio is warm and spacious with a friendly atmosphere. Workshops are small, with no more than six people to a class. We cover a wide range of techniques and subjects, where you can develop you skills at your own pace. Most of our classes are structured, but you can bring your own projects to develop if you wish.
What to bring
Please bring your own materials, e.g. paints, brushes and canvases. I supply specialist material when needed.
It is advisable to bring protective clothing. I provide plastic aprons and gloves when needed.
Please bring your own lunch, drinks and biscuits are provided throughout the day.
At the moment there are only spaces available for the fourth Wednesday of the month.
Painting Workshop
All the following workshops run from 10am to 4pm.
Who is it for?
This is a good beginners’ workshop which will help you build confidence in your painting.
What is the workshop about?
You will be guided through the workshop, stage by stage with clear painting demonstrations and helpful visual display boards for reference.
You will learn about the different types of brushes and how to use them and how to combine paints with different mediums to create various paint effects. You will be shown how to improve your observational skills through the study of composition, perspective and focal points.
This is a studio based workshop.
What is provided?
All necessary equipment and materials (paint, mediums, paper and canvas), lunch and refreshments.

Painting Techniques and Translation
Who is it for?
This is an intermediate workshop; having mastered the basics it is now time to move on to more advanced techniques.
What is the workshop about?
Acrylic paint is very versatile and can be used in many different ways. In this workshop you will learn about under colours, how to blend colours successfully and how to create texture. You will have the opportunity to look at how other artists’ work to help you in developing your own style and translation of an image.
This is a studio and garden based workshop.
Please bring your own canvas, acrylic paints and brushes.

Exploring Mixed Media Painting
Who is it for?
This workshop is suitable for intermediates wanting a challenge and more experienced artists who want the opportunity to experiment with materials.
What is the workshop about?
You can get some exciting effects by combining acrylic paint with other mediums. In this workshop you will be shown how acrylic paint mixed with resist materials can produce infinite permutations of colour and texture. You will work on two paintings at a time, developing each with multiple layers of colour and techniques. There will be helpful visual display boards for reference and we will also look at other artists’ work.
Throughout the workshop you will be encouraged to be courageous in your approach to painting; to have vision and to use your imagination.
This is a studio and garden based (weather permitting) workshop.
Please bring your own canvas/paper, acrylic paints and brushes.

Relax & Paint Holiday Break
Who is it for?
The workshop is for anyone interested in painting and caters for all abilities.
What is the workshop about?
This is an opportunity to focus on improving your painting skills in a relaxing but productive break. You can work at your own pace on your own project, or we can help you choose a project from our various examples. Because of our small numbers you will have the option of either plenty of one-to-one tuition, or if you prefer, friendly guidance and helpful advice.
This is a studio based workshop. However, we aim to include some time outdoors (weather permitting).
What is provided?
Some specialised materials, lunch and refreshments.
What you need to bring?
Your own canvases/paper, acrylic paints and brushes (please contact us to discuss your requirements).
